Name:Im Yong Soo
Country of Origin: Korea
Age: 22
Affiliation: In alliance with the Asian Mafia.
Expertise: He works undercover as a stagehand/water-boy/secretary ‘aspiring to be an actor’ and gets the inside scoop around the Acting Industry in case there are jobs needed to be done in that area. Plus, there is his (nearly) complete access to places because of the people he works for taking him during premiers where local government official could be in attendance of or perhaps the occasional ball/party in which he is sent in as a proxy for his lazier employers and since there isn’t much of a link to his real occupation, for now, there isn’t much of a threat.
Personality: Yong Soo is charismatic. He’s been told, several times and he takes that charisma everywhere he goes. Around set and even to meetings. Especially to meetings. He’s the type that likes to think his smile his infectious when really, it’s beginning to get annoying but he does it anyway. He isn’t particularly for keeping other people happy –you can probably call him selfish but that goes hand in hand with the naivety, he’s never out-grown as a little child of the same personality.
In the words of his pseudo-brother, “That was probably only cute when you were five, aru.”
He has a thing for laying claims that aren’t true –although he likes to think they are and he can come up with most ridiculous explanations to try and justify them. Yong Soo’s can get pretty smooth though, when he needs to be or around set. His constant cling to his ‘aniki’ could be how he doesn’t know how to get close by acting like the proper adult that he should be by now. It’s almost as if this is his very own form of losing all control. Not that he regrets it entirely later. He likes to shrug that thought off though with a ‘It’s what keeps me young.’
His selfishness brought about by his general “I want, I did, my country invented!” persona sometimes overshadows the fact that he actually does care. Even for just a moment, of what other people think. It’s just easier for him to get over such things.
Although this can be translated to: running away from obvious problems, ignoring the elephant in the room.
Nobody really has to know though and Yong Soo doesn’t mind things as they are.
He’s also very good at math and learns quickly when given right instruction. He isn’t one to hesitate and try out new things and he dresses very well even for casual occasions. Yong Soo isn’t a stickler for time but he tries to leave a good impression for people he’s never met and tries to make it a point to arrive at business meetings (dealing with the acting industry) on time (see: barely).
Sometimes, his help-around-the-set job takes over his personality –not in such a way that he suddenly turns into a diva—but he does want to make it in front of the rolling cameras for once instead of just his name in the scrolling credits.
His inner struggles, however, do not affect the way his exterior looks like because of his impenetrable thought bubble. He knows they shouldn’t have to but given certain situations, very rare, certain situations, something/someone important triggers it and he won’t hold back. Otherwise he’s just plain old Yong Soo who is probably going to bad touch you.
Appearance: The smile isn’t quite trademark but it can be recognized when seen. Sinister, with a plan, I’m going to touch your non-existent breasts now.
Yes, that smile.
It’s on his face whenever he sees any one of his ‘brothers’.
There isn’t much that stands out from his appearance. Sure, he dresses well follows trends (sometimes even if they don’t make much sense) but nothing really comes at you. His ahoge sticks out, but only in a literal sense –a good number of people have noted, however, that it changes expression and matches Yong Soo’s more often than not.
Yong Soo is pretty tall. Taller than Yao, at least. His skin only has a light tan because he doesn’t spend much time outside. Indoors is usually his thing unless he’s particularly bored and feels like going out to satiate his needs.

History:
Everything about Yong Soo’s heritage is Korean. The reason for his English sounding so good is because his family had migrated to America back when he was four. The spoken language at home, however, was still his native tongue. He doesn’t have much of an extraordinary past. He has defining points, his highs and his lows –usually he just forgets and lets everything slide because he thinks it’s easier that way.
Nothing ever happened.
Although sometimes, he remembers and can’t forget until he can see the morning sun. Knowing that it’s daytime calms him down and it’s also an assurance that whatever’s going on in his head isn’t happening. Part of his subconscious is still traumatized, a little broken but his exterior has no visible cracks. So all he remembers while he’s awake is that as a teenager, he would watch Korean Dramas with his mother and the other old ladies in the neighbor and after, they would say ‘oh Yong Soo! You’ve grown so strong and tall already, I’m sure you’d find a suitable wife.’ (defining point and high number 1)
And so he did.
Yong Soo left home for college –he was around eighteen then, just turned and he found one of the cheapest apartments near his school but the landlord had told him that all the rooms were occupied. As he walked away, exaggeratedly dejected (lips quivering and all that) –the man called him back and told him that the rooms on the third floor were mostly for two people and that if he could manage to get a hold of someone and get them to agree to have him share the place then he would be allowed to stay.
He didn’t waste anytime and began his door-to-door quest (also, his frequent trips to the emergency room). Even as he reached the last room on the third floor, Yong Soo’s spirit hadn’t been broken. He was still as chipper as ever, knocking on the white wooden door. The first two got no response but the third.
Yong Soo would always remember the third.
The “Just a minute, aru!” that sounded very irritated and rushed. He could hear shuffling and a thud that sounded rather painful.
The door was opened abruptly and for awhile, he stood there in silence just staring at the most beautiful man he’d ever seen.
It was a little scary and kind of cool at the same time –he nearly forgot what he was here for.
“What?”
“I—uh.” Mental thwack. “Hello, da ze~!”
Confused blink.
“I’m Yong Soo, your new roommate.”
Long story short, the Chinese man (Yong Soo had discovered on his first hour inside) had no idea what he was getting into –not that the Korean’s actions were out of malicious intent. Of course not.
It was in the middle of his stay there that Yong Soo had come to know of two very important things about Yao.
One: he really was a guy and (low number one –but not quite. Yong Soo just wasn’t sure if the way Yao acted like an old lady qualified as ‘wife’)
Two: he was part of the mafia. (low number two)
The second one was a rather painful, gut-wrenching but all-together sweet affair. As said, Yong Soo never remembered the dirty details. He just knew that at one point, there was a gun pointed at his head and then a “Don’t, aru!” and then a gunfire.
And then his comment about having to get someone to fix that wall.
The next day he was staring at an envelope that held the day’s mission and he was trying to block out the sound the Chinese man’s lecture about what it took to stay alive in this business.
At present the Korean still works as a loyal member of the Asian mafia, where he serves directly under his Aniki.
Sample/Character Introduction:
“You ran away.” If Yong Soo was going to be honest with himself, the voice sent chills down his spine but he kept himself reserved –more or less—and he stood stiff as a board, trying not to move because he knew that if he did, he would feel cold metal brush against his neck.
Something he didn’t quite like.
“Of course I did.” He stated, as if it was so evident. “Who wouldn’t want to?”
The man coughed and spat at the ground before turning to face him with a half-amused, half-dead serious expression.
“Everyone wanted to. You’re the only idiot who had the guts to actually do it.”
Usually, he was happy with chance encounters but the situation at hand was entirely different. More like planned death than coincidence but he wasn’t prepared to die this way. He would have preferred it if his brother was pointing the gun at him than have this guy give him the final blow.
“I’ve done it. It’s all in the past. So why don’t we forget about all this and move on with life, eh~?”
Perhaps the offer sounded more promising to his ears before the gun only thrust forward to come into contact with his neck and –that, that was going to bruise later and it was not going to be pretty. Yong Soo, however, didn’t stop to think of the reasons why this was his actual day job and reached for his own weapon that he’d almost forgotten about.
Almost.
He felt rather ashamed.
For a moment, he didn’t hesitate –so used to his fingers curling around the trigger, pulling and the panting to let the tension ease out.
He was sure that the man who’d plotted to sell him before, kill him now was dead. No pulse, pool of blood, tell-tale signs didn’t lie. Tell-tale signs didn’t leave out the fact that he’d killed somebody who was probably –could’ve probably been somebody to someone else but Yong Soo thought.
Pondered over the matter before brushing it off like the invisible lint on his shoulders.
If he died then his Aniki would be that someone losing the somebody.
And Yong Soo just couldn’t stand for that.
