Name: Antonio Fernandez Carriedo
Country of Origin: Spain
Age: 27
Affiliation: Law Enforcement
Expertise: First Lieutenant, directly under Captain Kirkland.
Personality: Antonio has a sunny and overall cheery disposition towards life, which, in a certain time, would irk some peoples off as Antonio’s cheerfulness often comes in the wrong time and the wrong place.
Some people, outsiders, strangers would often perceive him as stupid or thickheaded, due to his obliviousness and inability to read atmosphere, however, don’t be fooled. While he might looked like a harmless idiot from the outside, Antonio is certainly not an idiot. He knew perfectly well that people often perceive him as such, but decided to let it go, as it didn’t bother him at all.
Don’t judge a book by its cover.
That would perfectly sum up Antonio’s personality.
Appearance: Descended from a lineage consisting of mostly Spaniard, Antonio’s face had a distinct Spaniard feature to him, making it easy for people to notice that he actually is an immigrant to the country. A smile usually adorned his face, along with bright green eyes and messy dark brown hair.
When working, Antonio usually wore his tie a bit loose, not liking how the tie could easily be used to choke him to death. He had always loved playing safe more, although lately, the idea of getting into something dangerous has been more and more tempting for him lately.
Antonio had a well-built body, thanks to the work in the garden in his early years, along with his passion towards soccer.
Strengths/Weaknesses: His tendency to do things his pace is probably why Antonio is still stuck up in his position right now, as Arthur’s subordinate. While he certainly could advance much more, Antonio’s relaxed attitude and sometimes, his careless comment (like how the chief police’s hair looked funny and would be better left bald had left his office two bullet holes) had got in way of his career. He didn’t mind it however, since advancing into a higher position often promised more table works rather than field works (the prospects of having a better pay sounds interesting enough though…). And Antonio had always considered himself more of a field man.
Which probably brought us to his other weakness. Carelessness. Antonio was the type of people who would act first and think later, earning him a good earful of yells and warnings later from his fellow officers. And this is complemented with his tendency of putting the safety of those he cared before himself. And that doesn’t make it any better.
Antonio, however relaxed and carefree he might looked like, is a man who would get his job done in time. This is what kept him in the police force, since he did well after all, despite the aforementioned doing-things-my-pace trait of him.
Likes/Dislikes/Quirks/Phobias:
Likes:
- tomatoes
- siesta
- coffee
- sweet foods
- … cute things
Dislikes:
- those who get in his way
- pests
- rain
Quirks: Antonio had a habit of drinking a cup of coffee to start his day, relying a bit too much on the caffeinated drink to stop himself from being sleepy and groggy during work. Whenever he broke this habit, Antonio would often be seen sneakily sleeping when the others are not looking.
Phobias: Getting all his work ruined by one single unintended mistake or by an unfortunate turn of events. Also, seeing those he cared in danger, as he was a bit too attached to his family, be it his blood relatives, or his in-work family.
History: Antonio comes from an average family, a big one, with his grandparents from father’s side living in the same house. He’s an only child and apparently, an only grandson for both of his grandparents. He was often spoiled with presents from his grandparents. That, however, didn’t make Antonio into a pompous and spoiled brat. Instead, Antonio had helped his parents running their small café, and on his free time from studying and socializing, provides his grandparents with help on tending the garden, upon which he found his strange love over the round, red vegetable: tomato.
Antonio’s family moved to America during his early teen years in an effort to change the family’s fortunes, and also, in hope of providing their lone son a better life and education.
He might not had lived up to his parents’ expectation by choosing to join the law enforcement rather than helping with the family business, which had turned out to be better than their previous life in Spain. However, they didn’t have much to say to him, for they’re the ones who raised him, and they’re also those who knew him well, and taking that into account, once Antonio had set up his mind into doing something, there’s nothing anyone could do to change his mind.
Sample/Character Introduction: It was another of the usual morning for him, waking up, making a breakfast for himself, taking a bath quickly since he realized that he would be late if he continues doing things on this pace (a scolding from the captain doesn’t sound tasty to him, although seeing the Briton’s face turning into bright red while fuming is certainly a sight to behold), and saying good bye to his parents hastily before he took off to the office, wondering on what else could happen in this town.
It had gotten a bit boring lately. Really.
Antonio hummed to himself, feeling happy as the sun was shining bright. He never liked rain, it makes people gloomy, he had once said.
Luckily for Antonio, he had arrived at the office just in time. He offered his usual smile to the other officers before heading to his desk, which was cluttered with various things like pens, paperworks, and an empty cup, and sat on his own chair.
“A- A fight had broke!” A young police shouted not long after he sat, looking confused and utterly fatigued.
Antonio smiled to himself. Perhaps, today would not be as boring as he had thought it would be.
