History:
Alfred F. Jones was born in Washington D.C., where he lived with his parents until the age of five. His parents got job transfers to New York City, where Alfred started the first grade. In school, he was a bit of a hyperactive child, but he really liked school going to school, because he learned so much about America.
When he entered the 6th grade at eleven years old, his parents adopted a ten-year-old Canadian boy. The boy’s name was Matthew Williams and even though Alfred found him weird and boring at first, he quickly came to love the boy as his real brother. The two of them looked so much alike that sometimes, even Alfred forgot that they weren’t twins and weren’t related.
When he graduated from high school, Alfred joined the United States Army. After a while, his commanding officer recommended him to the U.S. Army Sniper School, after seeing that Alfred had the potential to be an excellent sniper. Which was exactly what Alfred became. Because of this skill, he was deployed almost immediately after his schooling.
War damaged Alfred in ways he did not like talking about. Even though he told himself not to get too close to anyone, it was hard for him not to befriend people. Which made everything that much harder when he saw his friends die through his sniper lens.
Alfred returned from the war, his mind broken in two. Because he did not want to worry his parents or have them see him acting strangely, Alfred moved out of the house. He soon found it hard to be around other people, so he got a job as a pizza delivery boy. This job did not pay well, but at least he did not have to spend much time with people.
After having this job for a while, only speaking with his parents and Matthew, who was off in Canada learning to be a chef, Alfred received some interesting visitors, who had heard about his expertise at combat and especially at sniping. They made him an offer he couldn’t refuse and a few days later, Alfred had completed his first hired kill.
Thus began Alfred’s life as a hired killer. Deciding not to affiliate with any family, he worked for whoever paid him. This angered some families but if any of the family members came after him, they quickly found themselves swimming with the fishes.
Despite living a life like this, Alfred continued to keep in touch with his younger brother. Until recently, that is. Matthew’s calls and letters suddenly stopped, which caused Alfred to freak out. When his calls continued to be unanswered and his letters came back with a “Return to Sender” stamp mark.
Since then, Alfred has used his mafia connections to try and find his brother, though he isn’t sure he wants Matthew to see him as he is now…
Sample/Character Introduction:
Everything was all set up. The sniper rifle was in place, pointed towards the entrance of a hotel across the street and down the block. The hit was scheduled for four in the afternoon and it was currently 3:33 PM.
Alfred waited, lying on the floor of the room his was in. He was holding a watch in front of his face, watching the seconds and then minutes tic by.
3:40
Twenty more minutes. Waiting was always the hardest part of this job. Alfred did not handle boredom well, so he began humming to himself, some silly little song from his childhood. Back when things had been happier and he had been with his family.
Shaking his head to clear the memories that were creeping up on his mind, Alfred sat up, looking down at his watch again. 3:49. It was almost time… Moving over to his gun, he looked through the lenses, the hotel entrance instantly magnifying for his eyes.
3:55
A feral grin broke out over Alfred’s face and his index finger stroked the trigger. “Thanks for letting me out, Alfred. You know I love this job,” he whispered, before glancing at the watch again.
3:58
Turning his attention back to the scene through his sights, the person who had taken over Alfred’s mind laughed sadistically as he watched his target exit the hotel.
4:00
He pulled the trigger.
