Name: Mikkel Ødegård
Country of Origin: Norway
Age: 23
Affiliation: Law Enforcement
Expertise: Evidence and Identification
Personality:
Mikkel is meticulous and pays attention to small details.
He's from a calm and composed nature, what brings him to be a lot more observant than others, having this as a big advantage in his department.
He doesn't like to keep talks, and is not often the one who starts conversations, and most of the time looks like he's really bored and tired of everything around him. The truth is he's afraid. He's always afraid someone will read through him, it's hard to trust people out there, and he's the type who'd rather be alone than in the company of people he'd have to get rid of, later. He's cold, sarcastic and ironic at times, and is always wearing a blank expression, making it hard for people to know when he's serious or when it's a joke. There are few who have seen him lose his composure, and even less who saw him scream, or have rage attacks.
It's not recommended to push him too far, though.
Appearance: He's not the tallest one in his department, but he's not exactly short. Mikkel's about 5'8", with short light blond hair, with long bangs that falls over his blue - almost violet - eyes very often. He's always tugging part of said bangs on the left side of his head with a cross shaped hairpin, something he's really found of.
For his clothes, he prefers dark colors - black, grey, dark blue -, shirts with vests and ties.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths
- Has good eyesight. He can identify small objects from a far distance, and for being so critical about small details, it's rare for him to let anything pass.
- He's very fast, and has good reflexes. He's escaped a few accidents by thinking fast and dodging right on time.
Weaknesses
- He's not even slightly good at body-to-body combat. All fights he got into, he lost. If he won, it was because someone saved his ass, or he was just too lucky.
- Being critical about details can be easily read as a huge weakness too. He's always trying to find the small things, and sometimes it makes him miss the bigger picture.
Likes/Dislikes/Quirks/Phobias:
Likes:
- Coffee
- Candies
- Reading
- Operas
- Theater
Dislikes:
- Noisy people

Quirks:
- Keeps fixing his hairpin whenever he has to think about a solution for
something.
- Talks to himself quite a lot when he needs to think about something fast.
Phobias:
- Spiders. From the smallest one to the biggest one, he freaks out.
- Strangers touching him.
History:
He grew up knowing that one day he would be like his father. All his school life was spent in the best schools in Oslo. Always focused on the study, he left a little aside his social skills, and didn't care much if he had bonds with friends and people who were part of the city's high society or not. He trusted his father more than anyone in the World, and had him as the perfect role model, who was famous for some spectacular defenses on court. His father was considered one of the best defense attorneys in Norway, he could get any kind of criminal judged not guilty.
Except one.
Mikkel was fifteen years old when one of the most anticipated and well-paid defenses of his father went wrong. The prosecutor had clear evidence that the defendant was guilty, and even the best arguments of Mikkel's father could free the defendant, or relieve his punishment. The defendant was convicted and received the death penalty.
Less than a week later, Mikkel's father was found dead, clearly murdered by members of the mafia.
From that day on, Mikkel became even more determined to pursue a career as a lawyer. He graduated with excellent grades, and less than six months working in the area, decided it was not what he wanted, and began training for the Police's Investigation Department.
He asked to enter as an assistant in the investigation of cases on the mafia, and soon got a promotion.
He takes his work very seriously, he practically lives for it, and only for it.
Sample/Character Introduction:
The room was dark when he got there.
Nobody had moved a thing, like he asked them, it meant no light was put around, and the crime scene was exactly like it was found, no one had touched a thing. Mikkel took a few steps inside the small office, focusing not to step on the pen that was laying not too far from the bloody table, where a dead man was half sat, half sprawled, a paper in hand.
He sighed and looked down, searching for something, anything, while the other policemen too pictures. His eyes traveled from the body there, to the ground, where a single cigarette butt stood, right before the victims right foot. Mikkel took the cigarette butt in hands, a french brand one. He raised his head looking at the objects on the floor: a notebook, two pens, three pencils, a pencil sharpener, a bear shaped-paperweight, a clock... no ashtray. It meant that guy was not a smoker, but I smoker was there, and left a cigarette butt, from a french brand. He stood up, holding the new found object between his fingers, sighing loudly while his partners started collecting other things they thought were important. Mikkel grabbed a plastic bag from his pocket and kept the cigarette butt.
He already had a clue about who was there the night before.
